Four unmissable appointments for design lovers.

The Historical Buildings Tour of Bergamo presents Dimore Design 2017.

A series of events dedicated to the tradition and the fusion of design, art, history, architecture.
Different worlds, disciplines and cultures are once again interweaved in four Historical Buildings, interpreted by four major designers.

13th September – Villa Grismondi Finardi, Via Volturno 11A – at 21:00

Matteo Ragni talks

With Giulio Iacchetti, he won the Compasso d’Oro ADI for the “Moscardino” fork on display at the MOMA in New York, followed by another for the Montini manhole covers series. He won the Wallpaper Design Award ’08 for the Leti lamp manufactured by Danese. He was invited in 2015 to the Tianjin International Design Week as Italian representative with a one-man exhibition, whereas he was chosen as Italian Ambassador for the Italian Design Day in 2017. Architect, art director and university lecturer, he is one of the most well-known Italian designers in the world.

Marc Sadler talks

In the 1970s, he developed the first ski boot made of totally recyclable thermoplastic material, later merchandised by Caber. His specialization in sports design led him to work with the world’s most important multinational corporations. 4-time winner of the Compasso d’Oro, the back protector he designed for Dainese is on display in the MOMA permanent collection in New York and the Mite lamp by Foscarini is part of the design collection of the Beaubourg in Paris.

Katrin Arens talks

Katrin Arens is a passionate collector of recycled objects and materials. After receiving her degree in graphics and design in Düsseldorf, she made a profession out of her passion. The past lives of abandoned wood are revitalized and transformed into wonderful new design pieces with a story to tell. The spirit of the past lives on in objects, furnishings and unusual clothing articles found in the “Molino di Sotto” and “Vecchia Filanda” workshops in Villa d’Adda.

04th October – Palazzo Terzi, Piazza Terzi 2 – at 21:00

Paola Navone & Rosa Maria Rinaldi talk

Paola is an architect, designer, and art director who collaborates with the most important names on the international design scenario. She received a prestigious nomination from Interior Design Magazine to be part of the Design Hall of Fame in 2014. Rosa Maria Rinaldi, an artist who has received international awards, makes use of painting and photographic techniques. Colours and drawings unite in a free equilibrium in her work and drawings. Flights, dances, movements, leaps, bouncing and racing, bound across the canvases over backgrounds of brilliant reds, violets and pinks, spring green and golden yellows.
